  1. Windows 10 Mail App Folder Names for each account.

We own our own domain, and work with multiple accounts. Each person in my family has at least 2 accounts One public, and one private.; Plus, I have a separate E-mail account set up for each online vendor or account. When I set up all of my accounts in the Mail app, I linked the in boxes to all MY accounts, and set a filter to display unread mail on my computer.

I also need to select individual accounts, not only to work with the mail in that Account/Folder, but also to send from it.

    Problem -

The folder names displayed on the accounts look like this.

    servername

    servername 1

    servername 2

    servername 3

I have a LOT of accounts. The folder names leave me no clue about which account the number is associated with. I would like to rename the folders to a more usable and friendly name. IE,

    Main Account

    Myname Personal

    Myname Public

    Wifename Personal

    WIfename Public

    Son

    Son

    Daughter

    Daughter

    Amazon

    E-Bay

    Microsoft

    Wife Classmates

    and on and on.

I would also like to order these accounts as I please. Currently they are alphabetical, but there are some I would rather have at the top of the list. I would like to be able to do this without deleting them all, and resync them in the order I need.

There are a lot of articles on how to change the outgoing name, or the name of the account, but I can find none on this problem. I would appreciate any help you can give me; even if it's to find another E-mail client. Windows 10 Mail App Folder Names for each account. :D

    Thanks,

    SJM

BTW - Microsoft Live Mail sets flags in the middle of a session rather than waiting to close and doing it in the background. This causes serious "Hangs" and miserable delays. I want to get away from that. The Mail app practically sets itself up for each account, and is built into Windows 10 which is why I decided to give it a try while searching for another E-mil client.

cannot create folders in windows mail app

when I go to 'more' in the mail app and click + a dialog display appears however when I enter the name of a new folder and click enter it appears momentarily in the folder list then disappears and a message appears at the top screen saying that the action could not be completed. I have tried the suggestions from the windows help site but nothing works. it appears that my only solution is to uninstall and reinstall the app, however that is not possible because I don't want to lose all my e-mails and accounts.
I think that the problem is definitely with the app and not some weird Windows thing because I can create new folders with my Gmail account.
Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks in advance

  3. Windows 10 Mail app - don't show account name on left

Hello, I'm setting up a new W10 laptop for my mum.

In the standard Mail app I've linked her IMAP account successfully.

The name of the account (with unread messages count) shows on the left pane, above the list of folders.

Is it possible to hide the account name from the left pane? She only has one account and keeps clicking the account name instead of the inbox.

    Thanks!
