Snip & Sketch: It's possible to open the editor window after takes the printscreen?

I'm migrating from the Snipping Tool to the Snip & Sketch, but I'm used to opening the snipping tool, taking the screenshot and then the editor window appears, while in Snip & Sketch I press the "printscreen" key, but the editing window does not open after that, I need to click in the hidden notification

Is it possible to make the editing window open after taking the screenshot?

    Snip & Sketch via Shift+Winkey+S doesn't auto-open snip editor

That link was useful, it informed me that after doing a snip that seemed to disappear, rather than just disappearing, it was resulting in a notification in the systray. Looking in there I found the snip and could open the sketch tool to edit it. That seems like a pointless extra couple of steps to me.

I did find the solution I need though, thanks to inspecting the html source of a microsoft page.

I'd found how to create a snip&sketch shortcut, which was to use this command: ms-screenclip:?source=QuickActions which launches the snip dialog, but doesn't open the sketch tool afterwards. Thanks to interrogating that microsoft tips page, I discovered that there's an alternative command: ms-screensketch:?source=QuickActions which directly opens the sketch app (from which you can snip just like you can in the traditional snipping tool).

  3. Opening Screenshots in Snipping Tool/Snip & Sketch

    Hi,

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

The behavior you see is expected-Now taking screenshots would automatically copy them to the clipboard and would not open a new Window like happened with snipping tool.

A notification, should generate however to open the editor if needed. See the screenshot.

A better way would be to open Snip and Sketch app using app and select New Snip.

  4. Snip & Sketch: It's possible to open the editor window after takes the printscreen?

Snip & Sketch window fails to stay open

OK, can you reboot and then re-try the Snip & Sketch.

If the problem persists, do the following:

Press Windows Key + I key to open Settings, and click on Apps.

You should already be on Apps & features. Find Sketch & Snip app from the available list of apps.

Click on Snip & Sketch > Uninstall.

Then click on Start and type store and click on Microsoft Store in the results.

In the Microsoft store, type Snip into the search box and hit Enter and Snip & Sketch will be in the results. Click on it and then click on Get. Let it install and then try using it again.

Let me know if this works.
