Windows 10: I'd appreciate advice on where to find recommendations for a laptop. Windows 10

I have many issues with my Lenovo Legion Y520. Their Community has been giving me conflicting advice for weeks and now the site is a total shambles. I and many other users are unable to get through - I couldn't even post a private message to a Moderator - the Send/Reply button wasn't working yesterday. I've emailed their Europe President to tell him.


But I've decided that enough is enough - I'll buy another laptop. I checked via Bing but that site too is having problems; my search for"suggestions for best laptops" was twice changed to "questions for tops and bottoms the book". Probably a glitch but it gave me something to smile about in these current unprecedented times.


So any advice you can give me on where to find respected sites with recommendations for a laptop would be much appreciated.


PS I found it difficult to chose the category etc so if I've posted this in the wrong place, would a Moderator please move it to the appropriate place, please. TIA

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade requires a password (laptop). Advice welcome and appreciated.

My daughther downloaded Windows 10 on her Lenovo laptop from version 8. W10 downloaded successfully. However the system is asking for the windows password to proceed with initial Windows 10 setup. The Lenovo laptop uses a finger print scanner for password
access, but she does not remember her password. We are stuck, and do not know how to revert to W8 to recover or change her pass word. Advice welcome and appreciated.
