    Static noises from audio on windows 10. Also headphones get confused for speakers.


    My audio is making horrible static noises. I have tried reinstalling realtek hd audio drivers both manually and from the device manager, doesen't work. I have tried running the trobuleshooter and turning of audio enhancements, that didnt work either.


    Switching to generic high definition audio fixes it most of the time, but not always, sometimes it still shows up.


    Also the headphones and speakers are switched, if I plug in headphones they are not available as an audio option, however when they are not plugged in they are listed there. If using realtek, it will rapidly switch beetween headphones and speakers, unless headphones are plugged in in which case they are reacted to as speakers.


    This started to happen just a few days ago, it worked fine for a long time. I think this was due to an update, however it seems to stop working at random for example yesterday reatek worked fine, but then itcompletely randomly started making lound static in the middle of a video.

    Just tried it, I only saw the option for Communications Headphones instead of Speakers. But it still didn't work :c

    Loud Static noise from headphone jack

    Starting very suddenly, I have a weird issue with my laptop.

    I was listening to audio on headphones plugged into the headphone jack when suddenly, very loud static noise started playing over the actual audio. After about 30 seconds of that Windows even crashed saying something about an 'apc index mismatch'

    Ever since then, the very loud static noise plays on the headphones when they are plugged in. The built-in speakers work just fine. I have also tried with a different pair of headphones, with the same static noise.

    Things I have tried:

    Windows Update

    Looking for driver updates in device manager

    Windows Sound Problems Troubleshooter

    If anyone has any idea how to solve this or what might be causing it, I would be very happy.

    i seem to have loud like static noise when using audio speakers plugged into headphone jack on my PC. have had computer 2 yrs. didnt have problem at first when got comp. have tried another set speakers and get same noise, what can i do to fix this?
