    CPU decreases on playing games


    Hello r/windows10 !

    I'm encountering this issue where the CPU speed goes down sometimes when I open a game (League of legends or csgo). When this happens the fps in-game drops by 30%.

    I have also noticed that if I keep YouTube open on chrome the speed stays at 2.39 Ghz.

    I have checked everything online (High performance power mode, no battery etc.. ) but unfortunately I still have the issue. I must also add that my laptop has never had problems of overheating.

    There can be many causes for High CPU usage. However, before I can give you troubleshooting steps, I'd like to know more information about this issue. Please answer these questions below:

    • When did the issue start to happen?
    • What is the current build and version of your Windows 10 device? This
      article       can help you get this information.
    • Do you have third-party antivirus software installed on your device?
    • Can you give me an example of the games that you play?

    BSOD When playing games

    Hi Jackson,

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

    Please share the information requested below:

    • Does the BSOD occur while playing a particular game?
    • Is the game downloaded from Windows Store?

    I suggest you to update the Graphic Card drivers by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update.
