Windows 10: Will Microsoft EVER develop a comprehensive answer as to how to fix printing problems that...

I and many others judging from the number of posts in various forums are having ongoing and increasingly difficulties with printing capability in the WIN10 environment. In my case, it started with problems printing anything to any printer, either physical or virtual, from EDGE and has since expanded to printing from MS Outlook Mail, Calendar, or Photos. Excel is now starting to act strangely in certain circumstances and I don't actually know the sum of this problem on my PC. I do know that my attempts to work from home at this time have been hampered by this ongoing and expanding issue.


For many people, this problem in some variant or the other has literally been going on for years. Sometimes a moderator or participant has a suggestion that works, but often not, or partially, or maybe for that one person, but not others and trying to keep track of what works is impossible with so many "maybe you can try this . . " spread out over so many forums over so many years.


Please, MS, address this matter in an organized and comprehensive fashion. I don't mind doing a registry hack, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, etc.; whatever it takes, but please give the user community some real, official, "I'm willing to put my name on it." guidance on handling this problem.

Print to PDF missing in Printer List

Hi William,

We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
• Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
• On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
  OK to save changes.
• Restart your PC.
• Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.

Microsoft Print to PDF mixes up JPGs.

To understand the issue better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• What happens when you select small bunch of images and try to print?
• Is the issue specific to the Microsoft Print to PDF?

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you.

• Create a new folder and copy the images you want in PDF.
• Sort the images as you want. (It always copies as per the sorted time/date)
• Set the images in Order/Sequence as you want it to be set in PDF.
• Select all and Print it to PDF.

Thanks for your help. I was browsing the web the other day and I found a page called FINAL DRAFT. They had a set of instructions for reinstalling the Microsoft Print to PDF utility that worked great for me. Problem solved.
