  1. Microsoft Family website approval emails going outside the family group

I set up a Microsoft family group including myself and two children. Under Content Restrictions I've set only allowed websites and when I try going to an unapproved site it gives a button to request access. If I log in I can see the requests and approve/deny them. But I was contacted by someone outside my family group entirely, someone not even in my address book, not someone I've even sent email to from a Microsoft account before, saying they've been receiving emails to their email address with my name on them asking me to approve website access requests made by both of my children.

What is going on here? How come emails regarding my children are being sent to someone who has no association at all with my family account? I have no forwarding rules in place, according to this person the emails are being sent to them with my name but their email address and they do not have a Microsoft account. I don't see anywhere I can even choose who gets the emails.

    :)

  3. Microsoft family problem

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.

    • When you say ‘I re-connect the account’, did you re-add the account to the Family group on the website or add the user account on the PC?
    • Did you check the system time to see if it has been set correctly?

This issue can occur if some of the settings are not working as expected.

Let us try these methods to check if that helps.

    A: Suggest you to
remove the child account from the Family group account. To remove a member from your family group, you must have an adult account.

I would also like to inform you that if you have added the account as a child again (if not, add the account as child), try to set up screen time and then turn it off.

B: Once it is done, you can
add the child account to the Family group. After adding the account, have your child sign in to the PC. Refer to the steps under the section ‘Add
an existing child account on your PC to your family group’.

    Article for Reference.

    Setup and manage your Family

    Hope this helps.

Let us know if you got the help you needed.

    Regards,

    microsoft family questions

    Hello,

You might be facing this issue due to the account is not configured properly.
We suggest you to remove the child account from family safety, re-add it again and check if the issue still persists. You may follow the steps below:

Remove a child via Family Safety website

    • Sign in at account.microsoft.com/family using the parent account.
    • Click the More button next to the child account that you want to remove.
    • Then click Remove from family. Click again on
      Remove to confirm.

Add a child via Family Safety website

    • Sign in at
      account.microsoft.com/family
      using the parent account.
    • If this is your first time setting up a family, select Add a child.

If you've already added child accounts to your family, go to Select a child to view or edit their settings and then select
      Add.
    • Enter your child's email address and select Send invite. If your child doesn't have an email address, select
Create a new email address for your child and follow the instructions on the screen.

Your child will need to accept the invite from their email.

Let us know how it goes and we will be glad to assist you further.
