Windows 10: Windows Store won't install new apps or launch Forza Horizon 4

I play some games on PC that I got from the Win10 store - Mainly Forza, both FM7 and FH4. Lately I've been unable to download FM7 (it stops at pending and won't move, it's been at this status for a few days now) or launch FH4 (the game just holds on the splash screen before attempting to load). I also can't download any apps or stop the pending download for FM7.

Some of my installed apps work - a few that I have and use (including Spotify and FalconX) still work.

Problem with Forza Horizon 4

Have you tried lowering your screen resolution to see if the game launches?

How much free space do you have on the drive?

Could you confirm if this also happens in the default Administrator account?

Open Start

Type: cmd

Right click CMD

Click Run as administrator

At the command prompt, type:

net user administrator/active:yes

Hit Enter

Close command prompt, restart, then try signing into the Administrator account.

Do you have the latest cumulative updates for Windows 10 1803 installed?

Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features

Scroll down to Forza Horizon 4

Select it

Click Advanced options

Click Reset

Restart

Check the Store for updates

If that does not work...

download the following utility and use it to remove Forza Horizon 4, extract it, launch it, scroll through the list, select Forza 4 then click Remove.

Forza horizon 3 Won't launch

Hello, I found a solution to this problem, although it is not a permanent one, you have to repeat these steps every time you want to play forza horizon 3.

Solution

1) Open Windows Store

2) Download any app/game or whatever.

3) Open Forza Horizon 3

4) Enjoy!
