Windows 10: Trouble Installing Windows 10 Education from Windows 8.1

Hi there,

I've created an account just to post this due to my inconvenient lesser knowledge on upgrading operating systems. I have acquired a key for Windows 10 E through my university; When I try to install the update via the Microsoft Windows Installer Tool I am presented with an error message

0xc1900103 - 0x20017 The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation.

I have tried three times to install using different wired connections in different houses, due to me thinking I needed a stable internet connection; currently using the university wired connection.



If it's any use I have one SSD as my current boot location of which I suspect the upgrade is trying to boot from; I do also have a HDD plugged in which has a very old copy of windows 7 still on it in its depths of despair.

Could it be that having both plugged in is causing my machine confusion?

I've noticed when it is trying to install the machine will reboot three times all going to a black screen AFTER seeing my BIOS options where I can see 'press f8' to enter BIOS the black screen then turns into a screen with the windows logo on but it is stagnant and then either reboots or flicks me back to 8.1 where I began.

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
