Windows 10: Activate Windows pops up after 5 years of genuine usage

Alright, as the title says, I've been using the same product key for the past five plus years, upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro back in 2015. and suddenly, out of the blue I get the "Activate Windows" at the right bottom of my screen.

By hopping to the Activation, I see the Error code: 0xC004F213

Now, I haven't changed my hardware in years, and I haven't done anything out of the ordinary, why such a sudden pop up questioning the integrity of my OS after such a long time?

It's been a long while since I bought my Windows 7, at least seven or eight years and I highly doubt I have my product key lying about somewhere.

What are my options? How do I get out of this nightmare?

Windows 7 not genuine problem

It seems like that's an OEM windows copy, it will do that the every time you reinstall the OS. If you have the key, next time you see the "not genuine windows copy" click it and choose to activate by phone, everything else is pretty straight forward as it explains step-by-step. If it doesn't work, then its highly likely that you got a Pirate copy.

 

This computer is not running genuine windows message after 5 years of use

My windows 7 home premium laptop which I have been using for more than 5 years wrongly reports that "this computer is not running genuine windows". But when I go to Windows Activation it says that "Activation was successful". But the warning still
keeps reappearing.

I suggest you to activate the copy of Windows 10 via phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select your Region/Country.
• Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.
