Windows 10: Remove Windows Lockscreen Password Login

hello, I just want to ask on how can I remove the lock screen sign in when my pc wakes from sleep. I had no choice but to make one because windows requires me to create the time I reinstalled windows, but now I cannot remove it. This one probably came from the update to require sign in because before I updated this one or the first time I had my laptop, there was no sign in whatsoever. now, I don't want to uninstall updates though I would like to find another ways to remove the sign-in feature because the laptop I am using is a family computer and as much as possible I don't want any complications for them using this.

I searched in youtube on how to remove it. I found a solution that I thought would solve my problem, but the next boot, when my pc wakes from sleep, it required signing in. I deleted the windows defender with the policy manager at the registry editor before and adjusted the settings in sign in options to "Never" it was greyed out unable to toggle require sign in when pc wakes from sleep and the problem still persists. the require sign-in toggle buttons was greyed out again and says it is Security Policies that is preventing me from changing the setting. I would suggest though I don't know how to disable a setting in local group policies, that might be the solution though I don't know which one I will disable. hoping someone would help, thank you in advance!

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

Correct. I switched to a local account with no password.

The only other thing I can suggest is, create a photo screensaver with your desired image, then turn off screensaver settings. Then, navigate to "C:\Windows\System32\PhotoScreensaver.scr" and create a shortcut to the 'PhotoScreensaver.scr' file and pin it to your taskbar or quick launch and click it to engage:





EDIT: Mind you, it won't be the Lock Screen with the date and time on it though! *Wink

 

Exiting lockscreen without password?

I have a laptop with Windows 10 Home v1803, I'm the only user and the laptop is always at home. I already know that with netplwiz you can skip password request at boot or login, and in fact so I did. But I'm asking a different question - about the lockscreen feature.

If, for whatever reason, I would like use the lockscreen, Windows ask me for my password on exiting the lockscreen. Would it be possible to skip password request upon exiting the lockscreen and returning directly to the desktop?

I suspect the answer is no... but I'm asking here anyway, in the hope that I'm wrong.

P.S.: with Android you can do this very easily - just do not set a password, or a pin, for the lockscreen and you're fine - although you have a password for your account, the are different. What if I had a smartphone or a tablet with Windows 10?
