Windows 10: Lost all documents pictures, saved games files after the Windows 10 update

After the update was finished which took few hours when I opened my laptop and logged in to my existing account, everything was different. The complete desktop layout was changed, desktop icons missing, everything was misplaced, etc.

I tried doing the This PC>Local Disk C:>Windows.old>Users.
However, there are no Documents file or anything like that.. There is Documents folder which is empty and all the folders under my user name are empty.

Can someone help me to retrieve those??

Windows 10 printing issue while printing picture from Document files.

• When you say that "I cannot print a picture from my Documents file", are you trying to print a picture present in a word document file or trying to print a picture on Windows 10?

Lost Files (Pictures , Videos...) while AND after Windows 10

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience caused to you with the files and folders lost after installing the Windows 10, we will help you with this issue.

Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• Which were the latest updates installed on your device?
• Where exactly are you looking for the files, pictures and documents?
• Have you tried to look for the files in Safe mode and check if the files are present?
• Have you tried to look for the files in Windows.old folder?

I suggest you to place the computer in safe mode
and check if the files, pictures and documents are present.

Follow the below steps to place the computer in normal mode.

• Press Windows + R keys to open Run
  command.
• Type msconfig and press Enter.
• In the System Configuration window, click on
  General tab.
• Select Start-up selection as Normal startup, click on
  Apply and Ok.
• Follow onscreen instructions.

Pictures saved in the "Saved Pictures" file are lost in Windows 10.

Original Title: lost pics in 'saved pictures' file

working with Windows 10 picture editor. Taking pictures from Droid Blackberry for editing. saved edited pics to 'saved pictures' file, my computer went to sleep and now the pictures are gone. Can I recover them? BTW, I deleted all the pics from my Droid,
thinking they were on my computer...
