    Windows 10 file explorer opens Wordperfect document in Word. I have never had this problem with file explorer in previous versions. I have always double clicked on the document and it opens in its correct program. How do change this setting?

    Thank you so much for your reply!

    To clarify, the problem is that whenever I try to open another word doc in file explorer in a second desktop it goes back to the desktop in which there already is a word doc open and opens the requested doc there, instead of in the second desktop.

    I have tried the repair and it did not help. Any other suggestions?

    Unable to open wordperfect files

    Hi,

    Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall WordPerfect x7and check if it fixes the issue. Follow the steps below to uninstall
    WordPerfect x7:

    • Press Windows key + X.
    • Click on Programs and Features.
    • Look for WordPerfect x7and right click on it and click on
      uninstall.
    • Reboot the computer after uninstall is complete and try to reinstall it.

    Opening a Word doc in a Second Desktop from Explorer

    Hello,

    I keep running into this with Windows 10. I have Desktop 1 with a Word doc open in it. I create a second Desktop and attempt to open a Word Doc from File Explorer, but when I double click on the Word doc the screen reverts back to Desktop 1 where Word is
    already open to open the doc. This is really annoying because I have to keep going back to move the doc back to Desktop 2 where I wanted it. Does anyone have any idea why this happens or how to fix it?

    Note: If Word is not open on Desktop 1, then the Word doc opens from File Explorer on Desktop 2 just fine. If Word is already open on Desktop 1, and in Desktop 2 I click on the Word icon in the taskbar it opens just fine. It is just opening Word from Explorer
    in a second desktop when word is already open in another desktop that is goes back to that other desktop to open it instead of staying in the one I want.
