Windows 10: Cannot open or uninstall apps error code 0x80073d23

Hi! I have had some real troubles with my PC lately. I uninstalled some malware that I do not remember downloading in the first place, S antivirus client. It then said for me to restart my PC, which I did. When I logged into my account, everything was gone. All of my Chrome passwords, files, it was like my PC was restored to factory settings or something. The theme had changed and the wallpaper. It still showed my applications if I typed them into the search bar, but in files there is no such thing. I tried to delete Skype, which wasn't coming up in files but I had installed previously, and it showed the error message 0x80073d23. I have tried to terminate, reset, repair etc. I was reading another post with a similar problem. I have got two users showing up in files. One of which is TEMP and the other DELL. In the TEMP it has hardly anything, but in DELL, it had all of my previous files, except those of Skype and the other applications that are not working. It isn't just Skype though, its Microsoft Store, Photos, Mail etc. Which are all by Microsoft. I cannot understand why it will not let me open the application, and will also not let me delete it!

My computer is a Dell inspiron 13 5000 series.

Hey everyone,

I am having problems with my windows apps. None of them work. Everything from Netflix to calculator. I have tried to uninstall them but all I get is an error message with this reference number below. Is anyone familiar with this and how do I fix it?

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving this issue. I understand that you are unable to open apps on your computer. However, it would be great if you can help us with the details request below:

• When do you get the error message?
  
• Does this issue occur only with Windows apps?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  

If the issue occurs only with Windows apps, I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the article

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store and see if that helps.



You may also want to try re-registering the apps using PowerShell and check. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
   Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
2. Paste the following command and press Enter:
   Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
   
3. Once the process is complete, restart the computer and check.
