I've got an old PC that was originally Windows 7 upgraded to 10 and activated before online registration was available. I loaned it to a family member some time ago and recently had it back. My own PC has a fault and while I wait on a spare part to arrive delayed due to Corona virus related issues I tried booting the old machine up as a temporary stand in.

Due to issues with it not booting properly and having upgraded the graphics card had a spare, not hardware fault, I decided rather than a full reinstall I'd run the repair option. It's working but it refuses to reactivate and I can't even put the original Win 7 key in sticker still on side of case. Is there away to force activation or am I looking at having to buy a new license? It's not a matter of cost, it's just that this PC is only for temporary use and it seems a waste of money, especially as it essentially has a valid license already.

    :)
