    Hi, this is a seemingly rational account: naturally I've no idea what you've already read. That's a typical problem in trying to guess what to suggest, as you can imagine.

    Why under Update & Security does it say "some settings are managed by your organization" when my computer is my own personal computer and NOT managed by some "organization"?

    Some settings are managed by your organization message on Lock Screen Settings and Google Chrome

    Hi,

    I understand that you are seeing a message that some settings are managed by your organization. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.



    1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
    2. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?


    Refer the article Which version of Windows operating system am I running?



    Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and see if that helps.



    Regarding some settings are managed by your organization on Lock Screen settings, follow the steps below.



    Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
    these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
      Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run
    2. In Run dialog box, type ‘regedit’ and hit
      Enter.
    3. In the navigation pane, locate and then select the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
    4. Now click on Personalization key
    5. On the right hand pane double-click on
      NoLockScreen DWORD file
    6. Under Value Data change the value to 0
    7. Restart the PC


    In case you are not able to find the Personalization key, then follow the steps below.



    1. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
      right click on Windows, click on New, and then select
      Key.
    2. Rename the key as Personalization
    3. Now on the right hand pane right click on empty space and click on
      New and select DWORD (32-bit) Value
    4. Rename the DWORD file as
      NoLockScreen

    5. Double-click on the file and change the
      Value Data to 0
    6. Restart the PC


    Regarding Google Chrome, kindly follow the steps below.



    1. Open Google Chrome.
    2. On the address bar type chrome://flags/#show-managed-ui
    3. Now look for Show managed UI for managed users
    4. Click on the drop down menu and change the value to
      Disabled
    5. Restart Google Chrome.
