Windows 10: I always have to sign in to check email

This problem really has me stumped. It seemed that all of a sudden two mornings ago on the 23rd that I couldn't access my email unless I signed in every time. I have checked settings in Edge and Firefox and they are set to able cookies. I honestly don't know if it is a cookie thing or not.


Here's what I have tried. I did a restore for the date May 11, 2020. It went smoothly. And there were no problems near that date to speak of. Still had the problem. I also went into the registry with a fix I found on your Microsoft site. It was for In Private Browsing. I did it for Edge and Internet Explorer both. I felt like that was going to do it. But I still have same problem. Do any of your techs have any great ideas? Right now I feel like I am going to have to live with it.


Microsoft, please don't make me run another sfc/scannow and the other thing you might want to try. I feel that is pretty much useless. Thank you for the help though. KB

Well enable menu bar.

Right click here - a blank area above the address bar and enable menu bar. Tools is one option listed in the items that will appear.




The thing is - don't run those cleaners or let them monitor/ autoclean for a day or two and see if you still get the problem.

 

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Sign-in Preferences


I have not gotten my head around Microsoft's Account settings and think I might have messed things up. I created a couple of outlook.com email aliases and then opened the "Change Sign-in Preferences" section where it suggests to only allow email addresses that are monitored. So I did that and checked off the addresses that I don't monitor. I realized later that I would like to reverse that action but find that the aliases are no longer listed and I cannot remake them because Microsoft says that they are taken. Is there anyway to reactivate the aliases that I checked off in the "Change Sign-in Preferences" section?
