  1. How to prevent windows start user session before the user logs in?

    Hello,

my question is: how to prevent windows start user session before the user logs in?

Notice: there are multiple users on the PC and they all have password and pin and must enter it to login.

    Symptoms, which I observe:

    - When I start my PC, then login screen for the last user, who used the PC is shown good so far. But if I don't touch PC for a while couple of minutes and only then login, then I see, that my "autorun" programms, like Skype etc. are already started. This is unexpected and unwanted for me. I would expect the applications to start being loaded only after I input my password.

    - Another even less nice symptom: if I switch the account and login not to the previously used account, but to some other one and then try to log out, then I get the message, then other users are logged in on this PC. If I log off and login to the account of the previous user and try to shut down from there or explicitly log off and then try to shut down, then I don't get any message and the PC goes off normally.

From these two symptoms I conclude, that Windows start session for at least last logged in user before user actually starts to login. This behavior is unwanted for me and I would like to disable it. Is it possible?

    Thank you in advance.

    Dmitrii.

    :)

Allow just one user session at time

Here in home we have an PC with only 4GB RAM, and when we have more than one user logged in (more than one session opened) the computer get a bit slow.

So, to prevent memory usage with users sessions Locked (logged in), is any way to configure Windows 10 to show just a Sign Out option without a Lock option? Or maybe a option to Sign Out all the opened sessions when an new user Sign-in?

    Thank you

  3. Windows 10 User Log-In Issue

    Hi,

I apologize for not addressing you in a timely manner. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

I would suggest you to delete all the user account apart from the one which you are able to log in with Admin rights. Install all pending Windows and driver updates.
Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience. Follow the steps below to create new user account and check if that helps.

    • Press “Windows Key + R".
    • Type “netplwiz”.

How to prevent windows start user session before the user logs in?

    Logging off RDP users

I have several RDS servers that numerous users connect to. (MS Server 2016 and 2012) Everyday at 5:05PM, we have to "logoff" certain users from their sessions. I use Remote Desktop Services Manager to see all the users connected to RDS servers. Manually
I CTRL and select the users I need to logoff. Then right-click and Logoff. Works fine. However,

I want to automate this process and haven't found a way to do so using the following criteria:

    1. Needs to be by username. Session ID will change. Username doesn't.

    2. I can build a list of usernames (that will be edited as users come in and out of the criteria for logoff - i.e. salespersons come and go)

    3. Would like some sort of script that references the usernames on the list then searches for RDP connections they may have.

    4. If found, the user will be logged off their session.

NOTE - CANNOT "kill" or "reset" the connection. Logging off allows the software they're using on the remote server to be properly closed before dumping the session.

    5. This script process can be Task Scheduled on each of the remote servers and set to execute at 5:05PM daily (M-F) or it can look for these users and perform the logoff via the Remote Desktop Services Manger on my PC..

    Open to any ideas.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
