  1. Computer freezing, possibly related to usb

I've been having an issue with my computer for the past few weeks. The video and sound will freeze completely and after a few seconds, the sound will return with the sound notification as if something has been plugged into a USB port but the video does not unfreeze.

When I restart my pc no image is displayed but I can still hear sounds so I know my computer is turning on and starting windows. This does not occur if I turn off the computer, remove all the USB devices from their ports and then turn the computer back on.

This happens for both intensive and non-intensive tasks. It can happen after hours or a few minutes after starting my pc. Initially, I thought it could be an overheating issue so I am using a custom fan speed curve with MSI afterburner to ensure there is no overheating I am not overclocking. I've also reduced the graphics settings on the games I play.

My power supply is 850 watts but my system shouldn't take more than about 450 watts i can give a list of components if need be so I don't think its a power issue but maybe an issue with either a hardware component or windows itself.

Is there something I can do to fix this issue?

    :)

    computer freezes

    Hi Pat,

It is possible that your computer is freezing due to the unexpected power outage that may corrupt some system files on your computer. In this case, we suggest to run a diagnostics test. Generally if there is a problem with your computer’s memory (patricularly
freezing) then the system will prompt to run the Memory Diagnostics Tool. You can also test memory manually. Kindly click on the

    link
    to perform the steps.

For any concerns, don't hesitate to get back to us.

    Regards.
