Windows forgets to use WLAN adapter's driver after turning off

    Hi everybody,

I have a strange issue with my TP-Link Archer T4U AC1300 v3.20 wireless adapter. If I install its driver everything works fine until I turn my computer off. After that I experience internet issues every 3-4 seconds until I reinstall my drivers. The adapter works fine with other computers and the TP-Link support had no idea fixing it with mine. So my problem is that my computer somehow forgets to use the drivers. In the Device Manager it says that the drivers are all right and finds no other drivers for the adapter. I tried with the CD and also downloading from TP-Link's website but I have the same issue with these programs. Do you have any suggestions to make it work without reinstalling the drivers all the time or Windows itself?

These are the specs for my PC:

    Intel C246

    i5-8500

    8 GB RAM

    Radeon RX580 8GB

    Windows 10 64bit

    Specs for the Wlan adapter:

    TP-Link Archer T4U AC1300

    USB 3.0

    2,4 GHz and 5 GHz

Thanking you in advance for your help guys,

    Levente Molnár

    :)

troubles with my Realtek WLAN/BlueTooth adapter

"Anyone any idea how to install the drivers mentioned above? As Windows Update does not 'see' them."
It does not see them because that is your list of hidden updates. You can simply check the ones you want to go thru and the next Windows Update will see them but auto install, so be careful if you don't actually want them.

"I am having troubles with my Realtek WLAN/BlueTooth adapter, so I would like to try a driver update."
Best thing to do and not screw up the list of Hidden Updates you already have, is go to Device Manager (Win+X), expand Bluetooth to see installed drivers. Then r-click the driver/Update Driver Software/Search automatically ... If there is a newer one, it will auto install. Test, if not happy roll back by doing same steps except click Properties and use roll back option. Good Luck

  3. Microsoft Network Hosted Virtual Adapter Driver uninstalled

The other day I went to start up my VPN Virtual AP for my Chromecast and iPad to connect to via my Windows 10 Machine using the following commands (have done this several times before and it has worked fine):
    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NETWORKNAME key=PASSWORD
    netsh wlan start hostednetwork
But to my nasty surprise, I was responded with:
The hosted network couldn’t be started.
The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.
Now I've looked everywhere online for a solution to my problem here. The underlying issue appears to be that my Microsoft Network Hosted Virtual Adapter Driver is missing in Device Manager (when showing hidden drivers). This appears to be a result of an update to my WLAN Adapter (Will list spec at end). Here are the following things I have tried:

    1. Looked for Microsoft Network Hosted Virtual Adapter Driver in Device Manager as a Hidden device - Not there.
    2. Disabled WLAN Adapter and Enabled to refresh drivers
    3. Scanned for Hardware changed in DM
    4. Tried rolling back WLAN Adapter to oldest version - 09/2015
    5. Updated WLAN Adapter to latest version - 23/08/2016
    6. Searched the Lenovo website for their default WLAN Adapter driver, downloaded and installed - but was the same one I had as my updated version
    7. Looked for older editions of the adapter, but they either installed but didn't have the Network Hosted Virtual Adapter, or weren't compatible with my machine.
    8. Restarted my machine after every change made to the network adapters
    9. Uninstalled LAN Adapter and reinstalled.
What I've read is that some of the new WLAN Adapters have stopped including the Network Hosted Virtual Adapter in their installation package. Not sure how true this is but it would explain the sudden uninstallation of it.
I think that's pretty much everything. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Machine Model: Lenovo 100-15IBD
WLAN Network Driver: Realtek PCI-E Wireless LAN Driver version 2023.37.0616.2016

    WLAN Adapter issues

    Hello all,

So i've been having an issue with my WLAN adapter and based on my research it seems this is a common problem after upgrading to Windows 10 (although in my case the upgrade happened many months ago, long before this issue arose).

My wifi connection would randomly die, and the WLAN adapter (Realtek RTL8188EE) would disappear under device manager. Based on my research again I took following steps

    1)Updating Drivers (no result)

2)Registry deletion of pre existing VPNS etc (no result, as expected since i've never used a VPN)

A clean install was suggested, so I did that. Some results, although problems still arose albeit less frequently.

After that it was suggested I 'roll back' my drivers, which also had no effect. Then suggested to perform 'network reset' which once again worked off and on. Then suggested to uninstall the adapter and restart. That worked!HOWEVER since I wasn't 100% sure
how to backup my files and all again so I had created a system image. Upon restoring a system image of my computer from before the clean install, the issue arose again. So I REperformed the clean install, this time relying on the 'keep personal files only'
aspect of the install. Unfortunately, the same problems arose again. so I took the same steps. HERE IS WHERE my current problem lies and I need help.

So to fix the issue again, I did the network reset, which didn't work. Then I uninstalled the adapter and restarted my computer...and now it won't show up. At all! No matter what I do, the WLAN adapter has disappeared from device manager, and I do not know
how to get it back!! I can't install new/updated drivers manually, because there's nothing there to install to!

Is there any way I can get my adapter back online, or will I have to perform the clean install again ?

I apologise if perhaps i'm not describing some of my steps/problems super clearly, i'm not very good at this sort of thing...
