Windows 10: Migrate the data in Sticky Notes from Windows 7 to Windows 10?

My old computer with Windows 7 was damaged, and I tried to recoover the files from the hard drive luckily it works and moved to a new compuetr with Woindows 10. I encountered a problem to recover my data in Sticky Notes, but guessed it is StickyNotes.snt. However I could not find the way to migrate it from Windows 7 to Woindows 10. Could any expert shed some light? Appreiate your help!

Migrating Sticky Notes from 7 to 10

Hi.

I am having issues migrating/converting the old sticky notes (.snt) to the new one (.sqlite).

The normal procedure for doing this is...

1) On Windows 7, copy the sticky notes file from AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes

2) On Windows 10, paste that file to AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Legacy (having manually created the Legacy folder beforehand)

3) Rename StickyNotes.snt to ThresholdNotes.snt

4) Open Sticky notes and voila.

I'm having issues at step 4, in that I don't get a voila. The Sticky Notes app opens but it's totally blank so the conversion/migration never took place. Please help!

 

Migrating Sticky Notes from 7 to 10

Sticky notes in earlier releases of Windows such as Windows 7 and Windows 8 is incompatible with later releases of Windows 10 such as Windows 10 1607, 1703 and 1709.

You might as well backup the data and recreate them in Windows 10:

1.- Open >> Sticky notes, when located on the taskbar (Right click on the option) >> Select: List of Notes, now check if your note is in that list.
