  1. Parental Controls "Ask for permission" is giving a "Something went wrong" error

I installed Minecraft Dungeons on my 8yo's computer today. When he tries to play, it prompts him to ask for a parent's permission which is fine, since that's what it's supposed to do. However, when he clicks on the "send by email" button, it gives him an error: "Something went wrong. We're working on it - try again in a little bit." The Trace ID is ZKRJ9yaBok+C9cZR.8.1.

Thinking it might have something to do with the ESRB 10 rating, I fiddled with his birth date a bit in Microsoft Family Safety to see if I could circumvent it I didn't age him to 13+, because I didn't want to have to delete and re-add him, since it can be a bit of a pain to get the apps he we allow him to use to have the necessary permissions, but to no avail. I'm kind of at my wits' end.

    :)

  2. Google Chrome asking for Parental Permissions when accessing

I installed google chrome on my laptop so I could play some browser game that don't work on Microsoft edge. and despite the face that I am an adult and Microsoft says that my account it a adult account every time I go to run chrome it says it has to ask
for parental permission, and if I click for it to ask by email it just gives me an error message.

This is the what it says:

    Something went wrong

We're working on it- try again in a little bit.

    Trace ID: yjtdNb8VkUW5mxCK.4.

***Original title: Need to ask for parental permission to use app despite me being an adult..***

    parent controls

I had those parent controls in window 7 and 8.1. But the window 10, I don't to see it the control panel in administrator. Why isn't included?? I wanted to block in inappropriate websites such as porno, porno pictures, anything related to porno of any types
of website. also anything to add in PC or emails or favorite lists or make changes in PC windows, etc... Plus I wanted the pop up box as security to ask permission from the administrator, which that mean administrator will need to log in to give permission
    or not.
Please let me know what can be fixed or show how to do it?? I appreciate your help.

    Parental Controls aren't working

    Hi,

The issue could be because of corrupted files. I suggest you to delete the corrupted files yourself and see if it helps

to resolve the issue, please follow these steps:

    1) Make sure your children are signed out of any monitored accounts.

    2) Sign in with an administrator account and find the folder that contains the corrupted files.

There are two ways to do this. The easiest way is to enter the complete file path:

    • On the Start screen, type C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Parental Controls and press Enter.

    • If you’d rather open each folder individually, follow these steps:
    a. Go to This PC

    b. Open C:, open the
ProgramData folder, open the Microsoft folder, open the
Windows folder, and open the Parental Controls folder.

    3) Delete all contents of the Parental Controls folder.

This will delete any corrupt files. Your settings will be downloaded again from familysafety.microsoft.com the next time you sign in.

Hope it helps. Reply with the result and I'll be happy to help you further. Thank you
