  1. Losing Wireless connectivity

Just bought a new laptop and I keep losing connectivity to my home wireless network. It may stay up 5 minutes or 30 seconds. My other laptop stays connected just fine. Both have the same wireless settings, network settings, running Edge and the new laptop has all the updates for Win10. Any other thoughts?

    Thanks,

    :)

  2. Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.

  3. Losing Wireless Connectivity

I realize XP is not supported. I have 2 WIN 10 computers and an XP computer. I have a music recording studio and the XP computer is needed occasionally for an old but very useful AKAI sampler. WIN 7 or 10 won't work. I mostly use the upstairs XP computer to connect to the downstairs WIN 10 computer using remote desktop.

It's very predictable. I always can initially connect, but lose the connection after maybe 15 min or maybe after 2 hours. It will then try to reconnect and about half the time will reconnect. I never use the XP computer for the internet. I've never gotten a computer virus in the 30 years I've been using computers. I have HD image files so if something weird did happen I can easily reverse it by restoring the image file.

Both WIN 10 computers are connected by wire to the modem, whereas the XP computer has a USB wireless connection. A list of the best network settings for all the computers would be helpful and may provide the solution. I'm hoping someone here will have some tips or a solution for this.

    Losing Wireless Connectivity

I have a WNA1100 N150 wireless USB adapter plugged into a WIN XP computer. I've used the WNA1100 for about a year and I mostly use it to connect to a WIN 10 computer using remote desktop. It connects fine, but after a while I lose the connection.

I may be right in the middle of typing something and it loses the connection. Then a window pops up and it tries to reconnect. Sometimes it does reconnect other times I get tired of waiting and just use a WIN 10 computer to connect to my other WIN 10 computer using remote desktop.

If I were to guess it seems something on the WIN 10 computer is detecting it and is interrupting the connection, I'd assume for security purposes. I do have AVG anti virus on the WIN 10 computer and no virus protection on the XP computer, since I almost never access the internet. I have the firewall turned off on the XP computer.

I can regain the connection by using the Netgear interface and rejoin the network or redo the network connection. I've disabled the AVG anti virus on the WIN 10 computer and it still loses the connection. ON my WIN 10 computer the firewall and Defender have a notice saying they are being controlled by AVG.

I’m using an ATT U-Verse modem – wireless connection to XP and wired connection to both WIN 10 computers. Can you give me some tips to try to get this working consistently?
