….but I haven't been able to find a thread on this.
First of all, I am running Windows10 v.1803. The computer hadn't been updated for quite a while (I know, I know...but that's a different story), & I'd learned 1803 wasn't going to be supported anymore. So, I went to download & install v. 1909, and, of course, it didn't work. Thinking that maybe not being up-to-date might be an issue, I painfully downloaded and installed the updates (at times having to do several updates 2 & 3 times before they installed), and have installed a service pack update from Mar 2020. Windowsshows me I now have one update, which it downloads, however on reboot, it says it's installing, then it says "can't install update, backing out update". I've tried 4 times. Tried to download & install 1909, no dice. I have downloaded the Media Creation Tool, however did not have large enough media at the time to create. Am also unfortunately not currently at said computer. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any ideas/advice/tips/tricks/criticism/spewing, etc. *Wink

P.S.I know enough about computers to be dangerous. I began with a start-up ISP in Dallas in 1995-96, got out of the field in 2001. Was a coordinator between commercial sales and systems, so I have some of the knowledge. Of course things are VERY different now, but I do know my way around.

    :)

Need Serious Help: How To Record Video of What is Done on my PC?

I suggest the following simple steps:

    1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
    2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
    3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.
