    Error code 0xc000014c bootrec /fixboot access denied


    I am having a issue boot my Windows 10 desktop as the result of a power surge and interface with the EPIC system. Using a USB I can get to the command prompt. When I go through the process to fix the boot I am hitting a snag with the command bootrec /fixboot. The response is "Access denied." I have tried a number things without success. These it would seem are all for older build. What is the process for the current build? Is there another way around this. If nothing else works how can I reinstall Windows 10 without damaging my data files?

    Bootrec /fixboot Access is denied error

    I encountered winlog.exe missing/corrupted issue during laptop startup. Have googled up solutions in repairing with USB bootable drive but did not help.

    There's other recommendations to enter command prompt and enter the few bootrec commands. However upon entering Bootrec /fixboot....it stated access is denied.

    Additionally there were additionals steps to follow but i still couldn't get this Bootrec /fixboot command accessible.

    Anyone know why and what are other steps?

    These are the commands and how to run them. No reason you should get Access denied.
