Windows 10: SOLVED Cannot Access Windows 10 Pro Product Key

I have recently purchased an upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 10 Home so that I can use remote desktop features. I made the purchase on my desktop PC through the Microsoft Store, which led directly to installation.


When I attempt to install the upgrade on my laptop, the Microsoft Store asks me to purchase another Pro upgrade or enter an existing product key. The suggested location to find this key is in my Microsoft Account Order History. My order of Windows 10 Pro appears here but does not display any product key. The order contains one clickable link - Windows 10 Pro on the order leads to a broken link 404. The email receipt for the order contains all the same.


What am I missing here? How may I work around this? Very disappointed having just purchased a product I cannot fully use.



EDIT: I have identified that only the server PC requires Windows 10 Pro; A PC running Windows 10 Home may remotely access a PC as long as the remote unit has Windows 10 Pro or better.

Thanks but I don't want to do any decrypting. I want to download a Win 10 ISO from Microsoft and install it using my Win 8 key. No other steps required. Is that possible?

 

Clean Windows 10 (?PRO?) install

Hello guys,

I'm planning to get a new graphics card and lets just go ahead and do a clean install aswell. Now I have bought a windows PRO key online and my running OS is windows PRO. Now I want to set up my usb to make a clean install. I wanted to use the windows tool to download the PRO version but its not in the drop down box. I have tried selecting different languages but I still couldn't find it. Now my question is, can I use my pro key on a normal windows 10? If so, my problem is solved. If not, how can I download the pro version from the tool?

UPDATE::

Apperently when the install is happening, windows will select the right version depending on the product key version. So PROBLEM SOLVED *Smile

 

Why was I not asked for a product key when upgrading to Win 10?

According to your spec you have Win 10 Pro, but perhaps that doesn't reflect your PC.

You haven't stated which edition of Win 10 you have on this machine, nor what your Win 10 key is for.

For example, if you already have Win 10 Pro and your key is Win 10 Home, that would be a retrograde step.
