The Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 and 6700 Mobile Connectivity Systems are built from the ground up to meet the challenges of todayâs and tomorrowâs immersive mobile experiences. Signature Wi-Fi 6 series features are now available in the newly minted 6 GHz band, or Wi-Fi 6E, for multi-gigabit speeds (up to 3.6 Gbps with FastConnect 6900), low latency performance, and superior Wi-Fi capacity. New 6 GHz spectrum + new FastConnect systems = new Wi-Fi experiences

It would be difficult to overstate the impact of the FCCâs recent decision to allocate almost 1,200 MHz of new spectrum in the 6 GHz band for unlicensed use in the U.S. This new spectrum band more than triples the total spectrum now available for Wi-Fi, but thatâs just the beginning. The 6 GHz band is largely unoccupied, meaning itâs impervious to interference from two decades of legacy devices, and new devices will utilize Wi-Fi 6 capabilities and efficiencies making better use of the band from Day 1. The spectrum is also contiguous, making widespread utilization of wider (faster) channels, such as 160 MHz channels, much more practical.

Wi-Fi 6E will rapidly deliver benefits in 6 GHz once available

Wi-Fi Alliance® is introducing new terminology to distinguish forthcoming Wi-Fi 6 devices that are capable of 6 GHz operation, an important portion of unlicensed spectrum that may soon be made available by regulators around the world. Wi-Fi 6E brings a common industry name for Wi-Fi® users to identify devices that will offer the features and capabilities of Wi-Fi 6 – including higher performance, lower latency, and faster data rates – extended into the 6 GHz band. Wi-Fi 6E devices are expected to become available quickly following 6 GHz regulatory approvals, utilizing this additional spectrum capacity to deliver continuous Wi-Fi innovation and valuable contributions to consumers, businesses and economies.

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), today announced Qualcomm® Networking Pro Series platforms, its second-generation Wi-Fi 6 networking offerings, designed to deliver the ultimate Wi-Fi 6 connectivity experience across the widest range of applications. At Qualcomm® Wi-Fi 6 Day in San Francisco, executives are demonstrating the Qualcomm Networking Pro Series, comprised of four platforms, the 1200, 800, 600, and 400, distinguished by format, scale of application, and computing needs. The platforms leverage the company’s unique Wi-Fi 6 architecture and approach and are designed for densely congested networks, onboarding of hundreds of devices without degradation of user experience, and high performance.
