Windows 10: Windows 10 audio keep stuttering/lagging/static

I bought a new computer recently and after a few days I noticed the sound keeps suttering/lagging. I know it's windows, because it occurs no matter what audio device I plug-in.

I have tried

*Updating my drivers

*Deleting my drivers

*Restarting my computer

*Playing with my volume

*Using different ports

Static/Stuttering with audio

Hi There,

I have spent many hours trying to fix my audio on my PC since I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from Win 7 Pro. There seems to be a static noise that comes through the speakers when playing music through groove, itunes and other media players,
even when I play video clips and the same when I watch videos on youtube. This static or stuttering sounds appears at random intervals a lot during any playback. I have tried many things from installing Win 10 about 4 times, one of them was a clean install.
I had a discrete Asus xonar D1, I check with Asus to see if they would be releasing a Windows 10 driver for it and they said no, so I installed the latest
win 8.1 driver for it, this didn’t fix it. I ended up uninstalling the drivers and removing the sound card from out of my PC.
I then setup the onboard Via VT1708S sound chipset and installed the latest drivers(Ver 6.0.11.1000) and the same static/stuttering noise happens.
I have even disabled all enhancements in the speaker properties, I have also ran the “Find and Fix audio playback problems” this came up with no errors. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix? Or do I need to go back to
Win 7? I have read that many other people have had the same issues and had ideas to fix which I’ve tried and none worked from me This is now most frustrating as I like the look and feel of Win 10 and don’t really want to go back to Win 7 just for better audio
but feel like I have to as I like my quality sound. Appreciate anybody’s help, maybe I have a conflict somewhere with some devices.

Static/Stuttering with audio

Hi Nachappa,

I have found the problem but not the fix. It seems when I disable my Asus Wireless-N300 PCI Express adaptor the sound works fine no static or stuttering. Would you have any idea on how to fix as I need this wireless adaptor to access the internet?

Thanks for replying to us with the status of your issue.

This might occur if the audio driver is not updated properly. I suggest you to update the audio driver and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps.

1) Press
Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.

2) Select Device Manager.

3) Expand Sound video and games Controller.

4) Right on the audio drivers and click on
Update driver software.
