Windows 10: Keyboard not working.

Hello. I am having an issue with both of the keyboards I have. One is a Vortex Pok3r mechanical keyboard, and the other is a Corsair Strafe RGB mechanical keyboard. Just this morning everything worked completely normal, and has ever since I built this PC last year.

I moved my setup around and when I plugged everything back in and booted up neither keyboard will respond when I get to the “enter pin” screen. They both light up during the boot, but the lights go off when I get to the enter pin screen. I used the onscreen keyboard to login to windows, and neither keyboard will work once I am in windows either.

Windows makes the little notification sound when I unplug and plug in both keyboards. The only time I can get them to work is when I go to advanced start up and then I can press the number to choose how I want windows to boot. Neither are responsive in safe mode either.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)
  
• 
  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Keyboard Not working in Windows 10

We would suggest you to update your keyboard driver. To update your keyboard driver, follow the steps below:

• Click the Start button, type "device manager" in the search box, and then select Device Manager.
• In the list of hardware categories, look for Keyboards and then double-click it.
• Click on the Keyboard tab and choose Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.
