When I turned on my computer I turned on minecraft and its usually only laggy for a minute but it's been lagging all day and I'm in an offline minecraft world. Also, whenever I scroll it takes a second for it to scroll. I don't think it's my internet because I'm the only one on it. Does anybody know what I could do to make it less laggy?

Computer runs fine then becomes laggy

I have a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC which runs Windows 10 Home. When booting the laptop runs fine for around 10-15 minutes and then becomes very laggy and starts to slow down.

This can be resolved by restarting the computer or signing in and out of my main profile but I am not sure why this is occurring. I have updated the BIOS and all the drivers to the latest version.

  3. Computer constantly running at around 20% after booting

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

I understand your concern about CPU usage after computer restart.

I would like to inform that Windows Services are need to be running in the background and wouldn't consume more usage of CPU. Any third party applications/ programs might causing the issue.

AS a basic troubleshooting step to know if any third party application is causing the issue, I suggest you to place the computer in Safe mode and check the CPU utilization from Task Manager and update the status.

If you don't find any issue, I suggest you to perform few of the troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run the System maintenance troubleshooter.

System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

    • Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search box and hit
      Enter.
    • Select “System Maintenance” from the
      Troubleshooter
      window.
    • Select “Advance” and click on “Run as Administrator”.
    • Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

    If the issue still persists,

    Step 2: Perform
Clean boot to avoid any third party software conflict.

    Disclaimer: Putting your system in
Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

(Applies to Windows 10 as well)

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

Hope it helps. Reply to the post with an updated status of this issue for further assistance.

    Hi Samid,

    • What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you check if you are able to boot into Windows Recovery Environment using installation media. Follow the steps provided below and check.

      • Insert the installation USB and boot Windows 10 from it.
      • In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
      • Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
