    Why you should probably wait a bit before updating to windows 2004


    I've been impatient like nothing to download the feature update ever since they announced it and reading somewhere it has to do something with DX12, supposed performance boost and the new subsystem for linux accompanied with several other improvements, I went ahead and against my better judgement moved forward to the windows update rather than waiting a sufficient time so that they can work out all the bugs. Fast forward some 2-3 hours I'm stuck with my laptop which is now overall slow with significant increase in boot time and start-up along with noticeable over-all lag here and there. I went ahead to the task manager and found out sysmain running my hard drives at 100%. I believe 1909 was better and satisfactory and i clearly regret my decision. My advice would be not updating unless you seriously need these new features.

    System Config:

    Lenovo legion Y530

    i5 8th gen 2.3ghz

    8gb ram

    1TB HD + 128 GB SSD

    Could any of you suggest a solution, if any ?

    Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
