    Advise on best portable windows setup


    So I've come up with the brilliant idea of putting my 970 Evo plus, in an USB 3.1 external NVMe enclosure. The USB speed bottleneck has luckily been a thing of the past since USB 3.1. With this setup I can have my own computer anywhere I go. I just plug in my external drive in any pc and boot through uefi or legacy. At home I just keep it in my own pc and it's smooth as butter.

    The question I have now is; Is there a way to make sure my OS doesn't get cluttered with all these (1 time used) drivers that get installed over time.

    And is there anything else I should be taking in consideration?

    Portable HDD full but isn`t..

    Hi Graham,

    In most cases, this may already point to a hardware issue. We suggest doing the following to properly isolate this:

    • Connect your portable HDD to a different port.
    • Connect your portable HDD to a different PC.
    • Connect other storage devices.

    If you find that other storage devices work properly and your portable HDD still encounters an error with other computers, then this is already a hardware issue and you'll need to get in touch with the device manufacturer for assistance and troubleshooting.

    Feel free to post back if you need more help.
