Windows 10: Space/enter not dismissing lock screen

I'm having an issue that happens completely randomly where when I open my laptop and the lock screen appears (normal) but then pressing Space or Enter does not dismiss it; I have to use the mouse or slide up on the touch screen.

I did a bit of searching and came across this comment, but that was four years ago and the issue still hasn't been resolved in 2004 (build 19041.264).

Is there any way to solve this issue myself or do I just have to keep doing what I'm doing? It gets annoying because I've had a habit of pressing space after opening my laptop for a really long time.

Windows 10 stuck at lock screen, unable to enter password

Please do let us know the following to understand the issue and assist you better:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Are you trying to log-in using Microsoft account or local account?
• Are you trying to enter pin or password?

Assuming that this issue might be because of keyboard, I suggest you to use on-screen keyboard from the lock screen and check if it helps.

Steps: From the lock screen, click on Ease of access and click on On-screen keyboard.

Lock Screen Image Issue

I would suggest you to set the default pictures as the Lock Screen picture from the PC and check if it works or not.

Follow the steps below:

• In start type "settings" and press enter.
• Select Personalize
• From the left click on "Lock screen"
• Select the default picture and conform by preview.

Windows hello reconizes me but wont dismiss lock screen on pc after recent Windows 10 update

It could be that the settings for Windows Hello to ask the password was changed that is why it is not dismissing the lock screen. Some users have resolved this by checking the settings and making sure that Windows is required to use a password "every time"
and not every 15 or 30 minutes. It would be possible that if the settings are set with certain minutes, the system would wait for that time before it dismisses the lock screen. We suggest in checking this setting to see if it helps.
