Windows 10: Windows 10 slow printing, spoller issue, not problem with Windows 7

As stated in the title.


I've just bougth a Brother L8690CDW color laser printer, installed latest driver available, upgraded the printer to latest firmware.


The printer can print up to 31 ppm both in bw and color.


Printing is done in color 600 ppi, not 2400 ppi.

Windows 10 Pro 1903, AMD Ryzen 5, 12GB, SSD : prints slow as hell, I can see the slow throughput from the spooler, around 500kb/s in Process Explorer

Windows 7 Pro, AMD A8, 8GB, SSHD : installed the same driver, printing is blazing fast, spooler throughput is around 5MB/s in Process Explorer


Windows 10 : about 2 ppm

Windows 7 : about 25 ppm

That seems to be in regard of the spooler throughput that is around 10x from Windows 10 slowest to Windows 7 fastest.


Both computers had no previous printer installed, both are up to date so to speak for Windows 10 and are performing well. Strangely the printer driver interface for Windows 10 is not really the same than Windows 7 that seems more complete.


I'd like to know if it is a known bug in Windows 10 from what I've read so far and what is the tweak to get it working like before aka like on Windows 7.

Windows 10 Snipping Tool on Windows 7

All it is is one extra step beyond what is native to windows 10. Yes, technically it would be easier to have the functionality of print built in to the Windows 7 version, but you just have to save it ,and right click on it ,and print.

As far as getting the windows 10 version into windows7. I know there was a way to get the old winpaint, so maybe there's a way to get the snipping tool into 10, I don't know.

windows 10 slow boot

I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.

 

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
