    Trying to update Windows but keep getting an error code: 0x80070002 - 0x20007


    I've been trying to update my Windows 10 to the latest version and I keep getting the same error at around 37% of the update then it reboots into undoing the changes. The error code says "the installation falied in the Safe_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_DRIVERS operation" I've tried removing the installed update and reinstalling, using the bootable ISO, and the update manager from Microsofts website. No success yet. Any suggestion?

    Error 0x80070002 when trying to update Windows

    I have been having issues for months with Windows 10 updates failing due to Error 0x80070002 on my gaming laptop. The full message reads:

    2019-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4503286) -Error 0x80070002.

    I am currently on version 1803 (OS Build 17134.590) and I'm being told "You're currently running a version of windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements."

    I have followed the instructions on Error Code 0x80070002 Fixed – Eassos Step-by-Step Tutorial but this hasn't resolved the problem. Does anybody know how to fix this?

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    As per the issue description you are getting error code 0x80070002 while performing backup on your computer. I would suggest you to refer the suggestion provided in the article mentioned below. Though this article is for Windows 7 but steps holds good for
    Windows 10 too.

    Error code 0x8100002F and or error code 0x80070002 when you back up files in Windows 7

    Windows Sandbox seems fragile on 1903 for a bunch of reasons; mine won't start with a different error code.

    Feedback Hub reports for "Windows Sandbox won't start" mention about 25 different error codes experienced.
