Looking for removal of "Some settings are managed by your organization"

I currently get unwanted windows updates at unwanted times on my personal desktop. When going through my Windows Settings, I see the message "*Some settings are managed by your organization".

I currently have retail windows, not volume and have done a Windows reinstall and have searched up other solutions but none have worked for me.

An example of policies set on my device are:

    "

Auto Install and restart at an IT-specified time with no notifications

    Source: Administrator

    Type: Mobile Device Management

    Schedule Update Install Day

    Source: Administrator

    Type: Mobile Device Management

    "

Can anyone help me resolve this problem so I can change my windows update settings?

    Thank you for your help.

    :)

Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization

    Welcome to TenForums @alhasan

The message "some settings are hidden or managed by your organization" means that some registry settings have been added/modified, either by editing the registry or through gpedit. Finding exactly where can be difficult. One way that can help is to open gpedit, in the left hand pane select 'Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates' then from the Action menu select 'Filter Options...'. Set 'Configured' to Yes and only those policies that are configured will be listed.

If you find a relevant policy, you need to set it to 'Not Configured' to remove the "some settings are managed...." message and the restrictions. If you don't find anything under Computer Configuration, look under User Configuration.

Some settings are managed by my organization?

Hmmm... looks like gpedit doesn't see the registry settings created by that tool you used as having configured any of the policies.

Your screenshot in post #3 has a long list of apparently configured policies. The only thing I can suggest is to find each policy in turn in gpedit, set it to ' enabled' and click 'Apply', then set it back to 'not configured' and click OK. Try that with the top one in the list of 'view configured update policies', the 'Notify to download updates' one, and see if it removes it from the list of configured policies. If so, repeat for all the rest.

If that doesn't work you are searching for a needle in a haystack if want to find and delete all the registry settings that your 'security' too has created *Sad
