Windows 10: Bluetooth icon has disappeared from system tray and cannot be made to function even after...

I have Windows 10 Home an an HP Paviliion desktop. Bluetooth has functioned normally up until recently. Suddenly, the icon has disappeared from the system tray. When accessing services.msc, I can see the three drivers that run Bluetooth functionality. Even after I go in and change the services to "running" the icon will not show up in the system tray or in the "bluetooth and other devices" area of the settings panel. The toggle switch to turn the service on and off is also gone. I can only assume this is something that disappeared because of an update. Then, when I run the troubleshooter, it returns a message that my computer is not equipped with Bluetooth functionality. It's had Bluetooth for 2 whole years so, where did it go? In the status column of the services.msc I will see that the driver labeled "Bluetooth User Support Service_8b626..." is not running and is the third driver in the list of three drivers beginning with "Bluetooth..." and also shows that the startup type is "manual trigger start" but is not "running". IF I right-click and look at the "general" tab in the poperties box and change the startup type to "automatic" it will then list as running but I go back into this utility later, I will see nothing listed under the status column. Also if I just hit the "apply" button, it will tell me that the "parameters are incorrect" even though there were no parameters there to start with and I did not put any either. Help, please.

Tray icon disappears

I've been experiencing since the installation of Windows XP SP2 on multiple machines with the ATITool Tray Icon disappearing upon load at system startup. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. Enabling or Disabling the "Hide Inactive (tray) Icons" WinXP menu option doesn't have any effect. The only way to open ATITool after it has loaded is to go through the start menu to open it again. I have "minimize on close" selected in ATITool. When closing ATITool, you see it make the motions of minimizing to the tray area but no icon is displayed. Any ideas?

 

I want the bluetooth icon in my system tray _all the time_, not just when bluetooth is on

Turning bluetooth off is not too hard; click on the bluetooth icon in the system tray to get the settings. But turning it on is hard; search for bluetooth, find settings, enable bluetooth...

So I want the bluetooth icon in my system tray _all the time_, not just when bluetooth is on. That way I can turn it on and off manually at will.

How can I keep the icon in the system tray when bluetooth is _off_?

As a wish list item, I would also like an 'enable/disable bluetooth' in the system tray icon's menu to make that a one-click opertation.

Bluetooth icon in system tray

Bluetooth icon missing from system tray after update. Now bluetooth speaker will not connect. Device manager state that the device is not on when in fact it is...please advise,.
