  1. replace motherboard and re-install W10

    Hi All,

Excuse the repetition of questions. I seem to go word blind looking at the permutations to same questions.

Very basically I am replacing my Motherboard for the same as the one that decided it didn't want to play anymore and just transferring the CPU to that new Board. The removing and installation of this Board is straight forward, so no questions there.

The computer in question is a HP Beats special edition 23-n040nf all-in-one touch screen Desktop. 2015 model .

I will then load with a fresh install of windows 10 onto a new Hard drive using the windows creation tool and using the medium of a usb key.

My question at last is the procedure to do this.

The answers if any, should be so easy that a man of my advancing years can understand without visiting the local insanity asylum for a detox!!

Hoping in anticipation for a response.

Best wishes and stay safe in this crazy world!

Motherboard failed 3 weeks after W10 installatiion

Computer working absolutely much better than when I bought new. The motherboard failed 3 weeks after W10 Pro install, computer will not turn on, power on flashing AMBER. Motherboard will be replaced for same model. Unsure weather or not W10 was the cause.

Being reading blogs about motherboards and windows 10, answers were related to upgraded motherboards and not replacing for original. Some said that after installing a new upgraded motherboard, not as the original that came with system, W10 required a new
activation code, to the point of reverting back to windows (7 or 8) and reinstalling W10 again. Now, will this apply to a motherboard that is being replaced with the same model configuration that came with system, will I be required an new activation code,
or would this be just a plug and play thing without uninstalling W10.

    Thanks,

    WLevy

    replace motherboard and re-install W10

    W10 activation and motherboard failure.

Hey, wasn't sure what section to put this in.

Motherboard died yesterday, managed to source a replacement but I believe I am correct in thinking that once I swap the board W10 will deactivate itself and demand I buy a new copy?

If so, would I be able to get around this by booting the system with a spare HDD, installing W7/8, upgrading to W10, then connecting the original drive (so the MB has been used/activated with W10)?

    Thanks.
