  1. deleting files and folders from C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

    Hi,

I'm trying to delete app data from this folder that relates to apps which are no longer on my laptop. I uninstalled these apps a long time ago and their files are still showing in this folder.

To delete the files, I'm having to change the permissions on every single file individually and it's time consuming and really unnecessary.

How can I just delete the files and folders from here that relate to uninstalled apps?

    Regards,

    Daniyal

    :)

  2. Deleted Windows Store files from "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps"

You may try recovering the folder from Volume Shadow Copy snapshot. Use
    System Restore Explorer
    or
    ShadowCopyView
    for that.

Note: If you're using ShadowCopyView, it may not list the hidden folder in the program's lower pane list box. You need to type the following path directly.

    \Program Files\WindowsApps

Or mount/browse the folder in Explorer.

    Unnecessary apps in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

I see a lots of versions of the same app in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. These are apps that I don't even have installed. Overall they are taking up about 10GB.

    1. How can I remove these apps completely?
    2. Or can I keep only the most recent version?

    The storage sense
    suggested here
or disk cleanup of system files has not helped.

Here is the log of some of the unnecessary apps with sizes in MB

    Code:

deleting files and folders from C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink deleting files and folders from C:\Program Files\WindowsApps ;)
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.
