Windows 10: Powerpoint Icons (Office 2019)

When saving Word documents, there is the little checkbox for creating an icon thumbnail. You have to click it during save to change the normal Word document icon to one with a thumbnail image. Unfortunately, in order for it to work you have to re-save every old document and "create" that thumbnail.

In Powerpoint, however, you don't have the option of creating the thumbnail or not (i.e. checkbox during save). It seems to do it by default. How do I turn that feature off and just get a standard Powerpoint icon for presentations? Otherwise, is there a way to apply Word and Excel thumbnails to all documents and not just the ones you save and check the box?

• Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.

Recently used file missing when you right click Office 2019 apps pinned to taskbar

We have a virtual environment that we just started testing Office 2019 with on Win10. While the recently used files are there on the start up screen for each office item when you launch them, the recent list is not there when you right click Word/Excel/PowerPoint/etc
from the pinned items on the taskbar.

I have the Start settings set to "on" for "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar and in File Explorer Quick Access". Any other suggestions?
