Windows 10: after upgrading to newer version of win 10 i can't find music or photos

several months ago I received a message from microsoft stating that I needed to upgrade the version of win 10 that i was running. So I did. since then i cannot find any of my itunes playlists or songs that were on my computer only the ones in the cloud, but not all were in the cloud and 40 years of family pictures seem to have dissappeared. If these things were on my pc PRIOR to upgrading are they still there? and how do I get to them ? I am an old lady and not really tech savvy. I just want everything back the way it was in my previous version of windows 10. And also I have to question how can microsoft decide what i should or should not have on my own computer. If i put something that i own such as a photo or my 30 year old son's seventh grade music recital on my computer, how can microsoft just randomley erase it????

Compatibility Mode may be the culprit.

Compatibility View tells websites that you're running an earlier version of Internet Explorer.



From IE> Tools (or Alt + t) Compatibility View Settings, verify that the site is not in the list and uncheck 'Use Microsoft compatibility lists.

is hardware OK (Win 7) for upgrade to windows 10

I think in one of the other PC with win 7 or win 8.1 I run media creators tools and in some step prompt/found graphics card not supported... for win 10. I didn't found alone reading specs of win 10, but the tool says me... after changed graphics card the tool said all OK and continued OK with upgrade... That I ask to reach this step in this current PC - win 7 - must be all OK for the upgrade? Or must continue to upgrade to show this?

Just try it through Windows update, you shouldn`t have any issues.

Excellent question Navy, that`s probabaly why. If not then, as suggested, just use the Media Creation Tool and choose upgrade this PC in Step 3.
