Windows 10: To Do username not propagating- other users still seing old name

Hello! The company I work for recently migrated to To Do and we are having trouble propagating our usernames.


Most of my coworkers are properly displaying in all of our lists, however, my username and the username of one other coworker are still showing up as the company name.


I have already changed my profile information, and on my computer I see the correct name in most places - but only in most places. The biggest problem that we have, actually, is that when my boss tries to share a task or a list with me or the one other coworker- we still show up as the company name. This is more irritating than anything else- but has already caused a little confusion as to who is receiving what task / list...


this has been going on for a couple weeks now and it would be nice to find a solution.


I have already tried all the easy stuff: log out, log in. different browsers, removed myself from lists and then joined the list again.. we are working with windows 10, using primarily the desktop app, but must also occasionally log on to To Do through a browser. I have tried both chrome and firefox.

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

  How many user account do you have on your system?
  
• Are you able to log-in to the system?

Meanwhile, let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps. I suggest you to remove the username from Credential Manager and check.

• 
  Type credential Manager on the Windows search bar and select Credential Manager.
  
• Now try removing the user name and password by clicking on the credential.

User File Name Change

are you referring to c:\users\username?

if so, there is no easy way to change it, it is created when the user first logs on and does not change even when you change the username.

the only way to change it is to

1) create a new local user account with the name you want to see in c:\users\username - make it an administrator

(if this is the same as an existing account, you need to change the existing account name first)

2) logon to the new account

3) move all data from the old username to the new username - you may have to take ownership

4) delete the old user

5) either change the account to your microsoft account or change the account name to whatever you want.
