Windows 10 WiFI Proxy Error on Home Fiber Internet Asus Router - WiFi6 - 802.11ax

    Let me preface by saying,

I'm on a fresh clean format of Windows 10 on my PC and I'm running build 10.0.18363. Home Edition

I just changed my router to a new WiFi6 capable Asus Gaming router a week ago and everything is updated, drivers included. This is a home PC.

I am connected to a USB WiFi adapter: TP-LINK AC1200
My home network uses Fiber internet via 802.11ax.
My PC power arrangement is on Ultimate Performance and all my USB sleep modes are turned off.

Windows is apparently returning an invalid proxy error. But the fact of the matter is, my network does not utilize a proxy nor does it have any.

My WiFI is constant decreasing in speed every few minutes. Especially when it comes to browsing/gaming/watching media on the internet. It would ALWAYS be fine when I reconnect my adapter or disable/re-enable the WiFi in Network Settings. But it will always drop after 1-2 minutes or so to speeds that would leave pages hanging in mid-load.

When I ran the troubleshooter, this error keeps showing up. Somehow Windows is trying to resolve a proxy issue that's not applicable for my type of connection because I don't have a proxy. Why is this so? It would seem that this has the potential to cause incompatibility issues to a large group of users.

Again, I want to repeat myself: The connection restores to good state every time I re-enable my Wifi at the Windows Settings level, so my adapter is fine. A reboot works too. Before entering into slow WiFi once again after a couple of minutes.

These workarounds are fine. But I can't possibly be doing it every 10-15 minutes, for an entire day. Windows is doing something to change the behavior/performance of my connection for some reason.

I have also ran Malwarebytes to detect any issues, but I've not had any issues and my system is relatively clean since I only use it for gaming and working on office documents.

Can someone assist me to look into this? And if there's any way to provide you a log of some sort, please point me in the right direction the general troubleshooter does not identify anything useful for me to figure out what's wrong.

Router with Fiber channel port for internet connection at home

    Hi Guys,

My internet provider is ready to provide me internet through fiber channel as his internet providing(racks, switches) setup room is just 10 meters away from my home.

-Would you suggest me some routers of some equipment which can satisfy my fiber internet setup at home with WiFi facility?

-is there any adapter I can use to connect to PC(motherboard)?

    -Will it be more expensive?

    Thanks
    Michael.

Google Fiber Wifi Issues with Windows 10

    Hello,

We recently got Google Fiber internet service in our home and since then my Alienware M17 laptop has been having Wifi issues. This only happens at home, when I am at work I do not get any crash errors.

I get two crash errors, KERNAL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE & ATTEMPTED_SWITCH_FROM_DPC, the Kernal issue is the one that keeps happening mainly. Keep in mind also that I had Windows 10 prior to getting the new internet from Google Fiber and was not having this
issue. I had windows 10 for about three weeks with no issues on Time Warner's internet. It was literally the day of google fiber install that this started happening. Gotta be something with internet... but I am not sure how to fix it. When I was setting
up the google fiber router I did name it the same name as the previous Wifi name... but again, my wifes computer is not having the same issues.

I have Killer Ethernet/Wifi card in the Alienware M17x3

I am not sure what to do, it has crashed 5 times just trying to write this message, getting very frustrating.

Also as a heads up, I have reinstalled all new killer wifi and ethernet drivers. I have checked for updates on the Update & Recovery center, nothing there. I have also updated all of the drivers listed on the manufacturer's website for my laptop and nothing
has changed. I am at a loss and am getting frustrated.

My wife's laptop was upgraded to windows 10 and is not having any issues. Her laptop has a Killer ethernet/wifi gigabit card also, just an older version.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Sincerely,

Installing Windows 10 on Lumia 920

    I have a Lumia 920 mobile phone.
Found a list on the net with compatible phones that support Win 10. Mine is on that list.
Can't upgrade with the usual way.
Found help on this official website of developers for Windows Phones. It's a step by step no brainer thing. Most people are doing it. Except me. I can't get past point 6. HOWTO: Install Windows 10 for Phones on Non-supported devices (and other hacks)

"6.Connect to the same WiFi that your PC is on. Edit the settings for the WiFi connection to turn on the Proxy and set it to use the PC’s IP address and enter 8877 for the port "

    7. Open Internet Explorer on your phone and navigate to http://[pc.ip.add.ress]:8877 where [pc.ip.add.ress] is the IP address of the PC running the WPInsidersHacks app

No idea what this means.I guess i need to access the router and modify some settings in there. Some guy on the forum told me " think he means to use the local IP address of the pc. Go to cmd and type ipconfig and look for ipv4 address. Should be somethin like 192/......"

I did connect my phone as always via wi-fi to my router. But i have no ideea how to use that proxy or how to make my phone have the same Ip as computer. I did start WPInsiderHacks app on pc. This is what it looks like

Theres also this official Windows 10 Preview On Nokia Lumia 920 - Windows Central Forums
    It says this :
    1. Download the Windows Insider app.
Press ... > about > make sure Sys free space is 300MB or more.
If there isn't enough space, make full reset with Windows Phone Recovery Tool.

    Code:
    upwp10.chinacloudapp.cn:7777

    Download and install certificate.
    3. Edit WiFi connection, enable Proxy

    Code:
    upwp10.chinacloudapp.cn
    7777

    4. Open Insider app, click get builds
    5. You will get Enroll page, do not Enroll yet!
    6. Switch to WIFI settings, turn off proxy.
    7. Switch to Windows Insider app and now you can enroll for Windows 10 Technical Preview.
    Choose Fast option.
    8. Check Settings > Phone update.
If it can't find updates, you may need to reboot your phone and enroll again (without a proxy now).

Same thing with the proxy. Anyways the more detailed steps on the DEV forum are much better i think .Cuz they put out more info on how to do it.

Can anybody help me with step 6 ?
