Windows 10: Can't sign in or connect to internet

When entering my pin, I get the message "Your device is offline. Try a different sign in method." I am indeed offline, but I shouldn't need to be online to login. But I am, and I have the no network symbol even though I'm connected to the wifi network. I have the "no internet, secured" message . So I'm stuck!

This whole problem started earlier today with the following message "something went wrong and your pin isn't available" . At the next attempt, I got "the user profile service failed the sign in" along with an error code. Then, I got "Your device is offline. Try a different sign in method" . At that point I started trying my password instead of pin

I also tried updating my password, using another device, but that hasn't helped either. I 've tried safe mode, but I still can't get in or get connected to the internet - I get told my password is incorrect.

i can find advice online for the network connection iss ue, but it all assumes you're signed into windows which I'm not. And I can find advice about sorting the signing in issue, but it all assumes you're connected to the internet, which I'm not. Which is why I'm stuck!

I suggest you to refer to follow the steps below and check if that helps:

Step 1: Try Disconnecting from the Internet

• 
  If there is a Wi-Fi icon on the sign-in screen, click it and go to Airplane mode.
  
• 
  If there is a wired connection, disconnect the wire.
  

Step 2

Try to sign-in on another device (phone or PC) via the account.microsoft.com page.

If the sign-in is unsuccessful, then try to reset the password and check.

If sign-in is successful there, don’t try resetting/changing the password, try using the On-Screen Keyboard to sign in on the PC.

If that fails, make sure the PC is connected to the Internet (the connection icon should be visible in the lower right).

HTC 7 Mozart mobile not connecting to internet

If you cannot connect to Wi-Fi or use the Mobile Data on your HTC 7 Mozart device, we suggest that you follow the steps given on
Lumia troubleshooting and repair. After each step, check to see if your issue has been fixed.

• For issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks, select Connectivity > My phone has problems connecting to Wi-Fi networks, then follow the suggested steps provided.

• And for issues connecting to the internet using a mobile data connection, select
