  1. Shutdown problem on 1080p display resolution

For anyone who has the shutdown problem in which your screen may go off moments after you click on shut down but the computer does not actually turn off for a few minutes as indicated by the power indicator light staying on for a few minutes, you may want to try and switch your screen resolution from 1080p to 720p and see if that makes a difference. I know it sounds bizarre but I was testing something out which I do not remember at the moment and just happened to notice that on 720p computer shuts right off with no problem. I set my display back to 7080p and sure enough computer took minutes to shut down. I have a mini computer with integrated graphics card Intel UHD 630. I am not sure exactly what the issue is but using 720p causes something that does not keep the computer stuck for a few minutes once the shut down is initiated.

    :)

Shutdown problem on 1080p display resolution

    Resolution problems

I found the problem; I had to change the actual monitor resolution by changing the Adapter Properties' "List all modes" pull down menu from the display settings and Display adapter properties link. Any other attempt to change the monitor's resolution ended up only changing the screen resolution, thereby keeping the monitor to the "recommended setting" of 1080p. It looked like it was changed, but only the desktop changes.
