Windows 10: Camera on laptop won't work. Error code: 0xA00F4271<MediaCaptureFailedEvent> 0x80070018

I have a problem where on any application I use on my predator helios 300 laptop, the camera does not work. I have tried it on camera and it provided me with an error code; error code: 0xA00F4271<MediaCaptureFailedEvent> 0x80070018 . I am still not sure how to use it and suspected that it had something to do with the drivers not being installed. Thus, I have tried to update my camera drivers, but to no avail. When I open device manager>cameras, only usb boot shows up and when I try to update its drivers, it says "the best drivers for your device have already been installed". I have also tried searching other categories such as system devices and sound, video and game controllers, but I could not find anything related to cameras.


Aside from that, I downloaded Driver Easy in an attempt to fix a problem I had with Realtek Audio Console and not being able to find my microphone before, and now it says that I have to update the Realtek PC Camera Driver. Of course, I did not upgrade to pro because I don't want to have to spend $30 a year for something I wouldn't use that often, so I could not download it because I do not know how to manually download it and the guide they gave is not helpful.


I tried to find the drivers for my laptop online, but I could not find any camera drivers.


Please do let me know if any of you have found a solution or anything that helps.

Error: 0xA00F4271<MediaCaptureFailedEvent> (0x80070018) when trying to access built-in Camera

I'm using an Acer predator laptop 2018. After updating to the latest windows my camera stopped working and is showing error code: 0xA00F4271<MediaCaptureFailedEvent> (0x80070018)

I've had this problem for around a year now

Model No. : PH315-51-510T

Built Version of Windows: Version 1909 (OS Built 18363.720)

No changes have been made to my laptop



I've also run the troubleshoot that was suggested by an article on Microsoft help page

 

built-in camera not working
