Windows 10: Data recovery despite resetting a PC, how?

Hello, there are 2 options to reset Windows. Once there is the option "Just remove my files". With this option the files are deleted. For your information, it says "This is quicker, but less secure". What exactly does this option mean that it is "less secure"? Can my deleted files be recovered, and if so, how? The second option, "Remove files and clean the drive" is intended to delete everything on the hard drive if you want to sell a PC, for example. But as a note, it says "...but will make it harder for someone to recover your removed files". Why is it harder for someone to recover these removed files? How and why is it even possible for someone to recover them? The only difference I see here is that the second method makes it harder for someone else to recover deleted files. What exactly does the second method delete on the hard drive than the first method?

Anybody knows of a good data recovery software for mac? Preferably free?

I use Active@ Data Recovery for Windows, but honestly no idea what to use for Mac OSX.

Any suggestions?

I'm giving Recuva a shot. Mussels posted a thread about data recovery and that was on the top of the list. I'll give that one a shot next if Reuva doesn't cut it. Thanks Wizz.
