Windows 10: Is the zooming problem of Windows a general problem that will be addressed?

I do use my laptop with and without an external monitor. I don't think I am alone here. But it is very common that Windows does not detect the right size of the app to use. So even when I am working on my laptop without a projector, my apps become zoomed-out, and the texts very small and hard to read. The opposite is also true: A simple "Save As" opens up a magnified window with big text.

Is there a specific combination of settings to get over this problem? This is of course a recurring problem. I still haven't found specific conditions that lead to this, so it is very hard to troubleshoot.

Is this an active case Windows is trying to solve, or do we have to live with this for a while to come?

Zooming problems

Hi,

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• Does the Zooming issue occur on a certain application or is it a general issue?
• Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

Windows 10 Mail App Zoom Problem

Hi, while I know not how to alter the Zoom, I can make a suggestion. If you Open the Mail which you wish to read, then click on the Open message in a New Window button/icon. It is the rectangular box with an arrow through it, found in top -right corner, under the Send button (mine is green):




This will open the selected Email in a new Window. You can then maximise that window to fit the screen, then you would have more room to zoom, without clipping the right-edge of the message.

It is not much of an improvement, but it could make a difference in only a few mouse clicks.

 

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.
