    very slow restore from sleep

Windows 10 home 1903. I'm bringing this old Toshiba laptop back into use. It is a Toshiba satellite laptop with 3rd generation I7 cpu and 8 GB ram. Yet when I open the lid to awaken it from "sleep" it takes 18 seconds (!) for the login screen to appear. An even older laptop with Windows 7 is almost instantaneous in comparison. Booting up is a real time waster. What can I do to speed up the laptop merely wakening from sleep? Thanks.

    :)

  2. Sleep

    Hi,

This may happen due to its power plan. A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings that manages how computers use and conserve power. For this, we suggest that you reset and restore power plans to its default. kindly follow these steps:

    • Open the Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt, and press
      Enter
      :
      • powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
    • Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart your PC to apply the changes.

After that, go to Power & sleep settings
by typing it into the Windows Search. Check the When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after
    settings is set to Never.

Let us know if the steps above helped you to resolve the issue.

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect

In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
