Windows 10: Reinstalled Windows now on Home instead of Pro

I was having proble s with Windows 10 upgrades erroring out. I purchased Windows 10 Pro upgrade through the control panel option to turn off the annoying prompts. Eventually i had larger problems because software i bought wouldnt work on the computer any more. Ao i eneded having to erase the deive and totalky reinstall everything.

when I was finished, the installer had instelled windows 10 home instead of windows 10 pro.

apparently the license was on my Hard Drive or something? Anyway i cant find a way to upgrade to the Pro version I already paid for and bone of these forums addresses this issuue - or at least I can’t find it if it does.

The Microsoft site says the ISOs contain,, among other things:

• 2 Tech Bench Scripts
• Steps for Creating an installation USB stick

I expect the scripts will allow you to create a Home (not Pro) or Pro version.
I'm downloading them now just to take a look.

MSDN ISO's are multi edition, Home and Pro on the one disk. You can install Home or Pro. Kind of sounds like what he downloaded. MSDN lists them as
Windows 10 (Multiple Editions) (x64) - DVD (English), en_windows_10_multiple_editions_x64_dvd_6846432.iso

 

How to upgrade from Windows 8.1 Home to Windows 10 Pro

so, I've had my laptop for 3 years now and it came with a prebuilt windows 8.1 in it. The problem is that i bought windows 10 pro instead of windows 10 home. I tried to use the free windows 10 home download but it wouldn’t work. It kept stopping once I’m
near the last step. So any suggestions????
